arow Step by step management of Patient Assistance Programs
At RxHelp360 we have the most complete and up to date information on the web or anywhere else about Patient Assistance Programs. By using our tools and daily updated information, you will have a huge head start on recieving prescription assistance through over 200 Patient Assistance Programs. Remember that there is no magical formula to receive free prescriptions as working with multiple prescription assistance bureaucracies will always have setbacks and unexpected changes. However, by following the guideline below and keeping your ears to the street, you will be well on your way to recieving free prescription drug assistance.

arow Steps

  1. Use the RxHelp360 Pre-Qualification Calculator to determine which free prescription medications that you qualify to receive.

  2. If you do not qualify for some of your medications, you will receive an alternative medication list. This list will show you medications that are similar to the medicine you take that you meet the Patient Assistance Program requirements and will be able to receive free medicine from. Discuss this list with your physician to see if you can substitute one of these medications for which you qualify for prescription assistance through its Patient Assistance Program.

  3. Use the Free Brand Name Medications and Generic Medications Search Tools to find the Patient Assistance Program that covers your medications.

  4. Once you know the name of the Patient Assistance Program that offers prescription assistance for your particular medications, use the Free Prescription Programs Search Tool to find the most current information and requirements of that program.

  5. From the specific Prescription Assistance Program page, download and print the Application Form.

  6. Follow the instructions on the form and complete it in it's entirety.

  7. Check for additional tips and instructions on the specific RxHelp360 Free Prescription Programs page for additional tips and extra information on applying for prescription assistance through each particular Patient Assistance Program for which you are applying.

  8. Take completed applications for prescription drug assistance to your physician for their signatures. Tip: You may not need to make an appointment to see your physician in order for them to sign the documents. If you contact their office and drop off the forms with information about the program, and instructions on what to sign, your doctor may be able to review the paperwork when they are not busy and you can pick up the forms later.

  9. Collect the applications for prescription drug assistance from your physician's office and check them for complete accuracy. Make sure the physician has included a prescription for each application and each drug that you are applying for prescription help.

  10. Mail the applications for prescription drug assistance to each Patient Assistance Program along with all necessary requirements exactly as required by each program. Tip: It is best to mail these applications to the Prescription Assistance Program yourself and keep an accurate record of the date that you mailed them.

  11. Allow for current turnaround time and mailing location (to you or your physicians office) as listed on the Free Prescription Program Information Page on this site and set a date to follow up with your physician or the Patient Assistance Program if you have not received your prescriptions.

  12. Always, expect the unexpected and stay on top of things.

  13. Determine the "renewal window" and "reapplication date" for each Patient Assistance Program for which you are approved. The "renewal window" is the time that is on or after the date in which the Patient Assistance Program will allow your prescription assistance renewal order but before the date that, considering their current processing times, will get your medication to you before you run out of the supply that you have. The "reapplication date" is the date in which your approval for prescription assistance from the Patient Assistance Program date is about to run out and you are allowed to reapply. Most Patient Assistance Programs will allow you to reorder your medications a couple of times (normally but not always for one year) before you must reapply.

  14. When it is time to renew or reapply, check the Free Prescription Program Information Page of each Patient Assistance Program that you are recieving prescription assistance from and follow the renewal and reapplication instructions.

  15. Remember, expect the unexpected at all times. Follow up, follow up, follow up!
